Nick Lee: Restore Summer Intern

August has come to an end. I am reflecting on the time that Nick Lee has spent with us.

I am thankful that we have a house that has space enough to make our brother Nick feel at home in Detroit.

It was a learning curve to know how to live with a husband and even more so to be married and have someone else other than your spouse living in your home. It was God's way of helping Matt and I hold loosley to the treasures on this earth.

Nick has been an absolute pleasure to have at home. Other than being a brother in Christ who prayed with us and live life with, he gave special attention to the little creature in our house we like to call Luther. He helped mellow out our dog and it has been a huge benefit for us. If it were not for him, we might still have a more out of control dog than we did in the past. Don't get me wrong, he still has his moments but Nick really helped where Matt and I couldn't while we were at work.

During Nick's time with us we got to spend more time with Tina, his girlfriend. I learned so much more about prayer and dedication from this godly woman. Her honesty in sharing her struggles showed me how beautiful it is to be a part of God's family as we carry each other's burdens.

As I observed Nick this past summer, I saw a man after God's heart. He was courteous in conversation and he asked very insightful questions. Being an intern for a new church plant is probably not the easiest thing to do and he served with such grace. I am thankful to have gotten to know this brother over the summer months and pray that God would somehow lead him back to Detroit for a longer period of time.
